Thermal spray alloys
Copper thermal spray alloys
The Oprey range of copper thermal spray alloys includes:
- Self bonding alloys
- Flame spraying and metallizing alloys
Self bonding copper alloys
Self bonding copper alloy with optimum characteristics for applications where a single metallized coating is preferred. With adequate surface preparation and suitable thermal spraying equipment, high density coatings are produced with high bond strengths. For corrosive environments, the deposit will require a sealant. ≥
Alloy | Cu | Cr | Ni | Al | Fe | Mo |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
SB 85 | Bal. | - | - | 10.0 | 3.0 | - |
Flame spraying and metallizing copper alloys
Gas atomized metal powder suitable for flame spraying or metallizing, without subsequent fusion of the coating. Good surface preparation is fundamental to the success of this process and the application of a bond coat (SB 80) is recommended.

Cold spray copper alloys
High purity copper powder with low oxygen content where high thermal and electrical conductivity in the coating is required.
