Downhole casing and production tubing (OCTG)
Downhole casing and production tubing in CRA (corrosion resistant alloys) such as duplex stainless steels and austenitic alloys, Groups 2 and 3, API 5 CRA (ISO 13680). These materials are ideal to cope with the aggressive environments found in wells sour from hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide and other chemicals.
Predominantly, Sandvik's downhole casing and tube material is supplied in the cold-worked condition to ensure high strength and weight effective design solutions.
Sandvik carries five grade alternatives for plain end pipe for downhole casing, production tubing and coupling stock. Please contact us for a reference list of Sandvik's products for OCTG and downhole applications.
|Sandvik grade||Grade description|
|Sandvik SAF 2205
(22Cr, UNS S31803/ S32205)
|Sandvik SAF 2205 / 22Cr is a duplex stainless steel, which is resistant to CO2 -corrosion and to sour corrosion at low partial pressures of H2S.|
|Sandvik SAF 2507
(25Cr, UNS S32750)
|Sandvik SAF 2507 / 25Cr is a super-duplex stainless steel similar to Sandvik SAF 2205 / 22Cr, but with slightly improved H2S resistance and significantly higher resistance to chloride-induced corrosion.|
|Sandvik SAF 3207 HD (UNS S33207)||Sandvik SAF 3207 HD is a hyper-duplex stainless steel with exceptional strength and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and chloride containing environments.|
|Sanicro 28 is a high alloy stainless steel comparable with Alloy 825. It has excellent resistance to corrosion in severe downhole environments, especially to high partial pressures of H2S and high chloride contents.|
|Sanicro 29||For very high chloride contents in combination with high partial pressures of H2S. Sanicro 29 provides even better resistance to localized corrosion and sulfide stress cracking compared to Sanicro 28.|
