Sandvik 20.25.5.5.LCu is a copper alloyed chromium-nickel-molybdenum strip electrode used for electro-slag welding (ESW) or submerged arc welding (SAW) to deposit a second and third layer corrosion resistant alloy of 20%Cr/25%Ni/5%Mo/Cu composition on carbon- and low alloyed steels.

The buffer layer can be deposited using Sandvik 20.25.5.LCu, but also strip electrodes such as Sandvik 21.12.3.L or Sandvik 22.11.L can be used. When the over-alloyed electrode Sandvik 24.29.5.L is used, only one second layer is required to achieve the 904L/E385 composition.
