In 2004 S32707 was introduced to the market, a DSS within the hyper duplex family. Hyper duplex is defined by Sandvik Materials Technology as a duplex grade with PRE >48, an increase in PRE by almost 15% compared to S32570, and a 20% increase compared to other competing super duplex grades.
S32707 is an excellent material that shows unprecedented pitting and crevice corrosion resistance compared to other duplex grades. S32707 also shows better or equivalent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance compared to many nickel-base alloys, this alloy shows excellent resistance to organic acid, diluted inorganic acid. Can be a good alternative to nickel alloys in many environments. The main application for this grade initially is heat exchanger tubing with target industries including refineries, chemical, and petrochemical plants.
This on-demand webinar is based on a paper that discusses the properties of the grade, its comparison with existing and competing grades as well as case studies that show how this alloy could be your best choice for some applications.
