Sandvik joins national ‘Safety of Machinery’ committee
From 2013, AB Sandvik Materials Technology is represented on the Swedish Standards Institute Technical Committee SIS/TK 282 'Safety of Machinery'.
SIS/TK 282 is the Swedish subcommittee of the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Sandvik Materials Technology has an ongoing commitment to place safety as a first priority in all of its operations. As a member of the committee, it will be able to contribute to the setting up of safety laws and regulations and ensure that it has full compliance as machinery is maintained and upgraded.
Sandvik's representative is Martin Englund-Renman, Safety Design Engineer within Product Area Tube.
Says Martin Englund-Renman "Sandvik's participation on the committee is our opportunity to input our specialist knowledge and expertise and provide feedback on the practical application of standards in the workplace with regard to the safe use of heavy machinery."
