Sharp innovation for the future

In a unique collaboration, the Swedish manufacturers Morakniv, Alleima, Rondo Plast and TK Pac have come together to develop a knife that is largely made from recycled material. The Morakniv Basic 546 knife will receive a sequel, an alternative for the environmentally conscious craftsman who appreciate Swedish-made quality tools. The new Basic 546 SE will be presented at Nordbygg at the Stockholm Fair on April 23.

Alleima unveils new alloy designed specifically for subsea umbilicals

SAF™ 3007 is the latest addition to the growing duplex family of Alleima, a super-duplex stainless steel grade developed for subsea umbilicals. The new tube offers a safe, lighter, stronger, and more efficient alternative to SAF™ 2507, the current standard. With superior strength, fatigue properties and excellent corrosion resistance, SAF™ 3007 delivers superior performance in harsh deepwater environments.

Alleima releases carbon footprint data to Epiroc Drilling Tools

Alleima will be one of the first companies to implement Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for rock drill steel products for the mining industry. As a start, Alleima will release carbon footprint data for its rock drill steel products to its customer Epiroc Drilling Tools.

Next-generation compressor-valve steel set to make huge impact in white goods market

Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of their energy usage. As the energy efficiency of white goods plays a factor in this, could innovative materials such as fatigue-resistant compressor-valve steel be key to achieving the top grade?

900 alloy recipes and a full focus on sustainability

Steel is a wonderful metal that can be remelted and reused indefinitely. Today, approximately 83% of our production is based on recycled steel and melted in an electric arc furnace that runs almost entirely on fossil-free electricity. Through collaborations, products and solutions, we support energy efficiency, greener transportation, and reduced CO 2 emissions.

As the world seeks new ways to reduce its CO2 emissions, electricity is looking hotter than ever.

Leading the way in electric industrial heating

As the world seeks new ways to reduce its CO 2 emissions, electricity is looking hotter than ever. Nowhere more so than in transportation and heating solutions, where electricity is expected to account for an increasing share of the global energy mix in the future. And wherever electric heating is a challenge, Kanthal, an Alleima company, is ready to provide the solution.

Alleima introduces AI within its research and development

For over a hundred years, Alleima has been conducting its own research and collecting information in almost 60,000 reports. Invaluable knowledge, but difficult to overview. Together with KPMG, Alleima has now developed a generative AI solution, Alleima Guru, which makes searching through the material easier and more efficient to manage.

Transitioning from gas to electricity for heating is essential for sustainable glass production. However, it's important to acknowledge that this switch entails challenges.
