Sandvik to showcase whole range of corrosion resistant products at Rio Oil and Gas Expo

Sandvik Materials Technology will exhibit its industry leading corrosion resistant material solutions at the Rio Oil and Gas Expo and Conference 2014 held at the Riocentro Convention Center, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil‎ on 15-18 September, 2014.

Visitors to Pavilion 3, Stand no. P39 can see up close the whole range of Sandvik control lines, versatile control and chemical injection lines, tubing encapsulated cable (TEC) lines and protector clamps.

"We're very excited to showcase our high performance materials in Rio de Janeiro which represent a leap in technology as significant as the introduction of the first duplex stainless steels by Sandvik," said Alan Souza, Sandvik Sales Manager South America, Business Unit Oil & Gas.

These include Sandvik SAF 2507™ super-duplex seamless tube for control lines with nearly twice the minimum mechanical strength of high-alloy austenitic steels. It is priced lower than standard grades with better corrosion resistance and potential weight reductions of 50%.

Also on display is Sanicro™ 29. The grade is cost effective with superior anticorrosion than more expensive standard nickel alloys, particularly in environments containing high chloride concentrations and H2S and CO2 which corrodes lower alloyed materials.

The high performance of these advanced corrosion resistant alloys (CRAs) enables the production of seamless tube with higher yield strengths and thinner wall umbilicals for reduced weight and reel sizes and lower installation costs.
