Control Your Deepest Assets with our Control Line Calculator

Sandvik Materials Technology launches new control line calculator

Are you designing HP/HT deep water wells? Are the material specs for the control equipment optimized for safe and reliable operations?

Sandvik Materials Technology launched a new web based control line calculator application during this year’s Subsea Tieback Forum and Exhibition in Galveston, Texas, August 31 - September 2, 2021.

The new control line calculator provides estimates of the highest permissible internal pressures for control lines of certain sizes and Sandvik Materials Technology grades.

You can choose between three formulas, several outer diameters and wall thicknesses, the option of seamless or welded tubing, and the well temperature.

Based on your inputs, the available material grades will be displayed along with their internal yield pressure (psi) and burst pressure (psi). You can update or change the parameters as many times as you like. The result of each calculation is presented as approximate maximum working pressure.

“Subsea Tieback is the ideal location to launch the control line calculator. We’ve provided millions of feet of corrosion-resistant control lines for the world’s highest pressure and temperature wells over many years. The control line calculator will give customers instant and accurate answers to many of their tubing questions. This will help reduce delivery times and speed up overall project timelines to create total project cost savings for them,” said Leandro Finzetto, General Manager, Control Lines, Sandvik Materials Technology.

Because no two wells are the same, it’s important to select materials that are fit for their intended purpose. Our experts are here to help you select the materials with the correct chemical composition to meet your demanding application needs.
