Representatives from Sandvik Materials Technology and PEXCO located in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania presented a check to the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) on December 14, 2021. The donation was part of an Employee Walking Challenge that took place May through October; Employees walked for wellness while also raising donations for WRC. Sandvik Materials Technology and PEXCO generously matched each individual’s contributions, increasing the total amount raised.

The Women’s Resource Center provides comprehensive services for female and male victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking in Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties. Services include a crisis hotline, crisis counseling, emergency shelter, safe housing, legal services, support services, community education, and advocacy. WRC's mission is to “end domestic and sexual violence through advocacy, education, and social change."

Donna Sunick, HR Generalist states, “The 2021 Walking Challenge is part of our commitment to the health of our employees and those that participated pledged to walk a minimum of 40 miles a month. The added bonus for this year’s challenge was that we partnered with The Women’s Resource Center of Lackawanna and Susquehanna counties to advance their mission of Restoring Hope. Over the 6-month period our participants in Pennsylvania and Texas walked a total of 14,460 miles!”
