An Integrated Supply Chain Can Help Avoid Order Challenges

The global return to economic activity after more than two years of the pandemic is creating severe pressures on supply chains. This is leading to order backlogs and even causing project delays for some suppliers and manufacturers.

Making sure customers receive their products on time can be a challenge, but it’s something that Sandvik Materials Technology, continues to lead on in the marketplace, with its fully integrated and secure supply chain from beginning to end.

The business keeps a close eye on everything from manufacturing the materials through to delivery, meaning customers can be confident of receiving their orders on time.

Overseeing the security of the fully integrated supply chain and helping customers meet their supply challenges is Oscar Johansson, Marketing and Product Manager for hydraulic and instrumentation (H&I) tubing. Oscar’s role also includes ensuring products continue to match market requirements and presenting new opportunities from the mill to customers.

Oscar rejoins the company from Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, where he spent two years as a Distributor Sales Manager within mobile screening and crushing. Previously, he held various global positions in the sales and marketing function at Sandvik Materials Technology.

“It’s vital that our supply chain remains secure so our customers can continue to meet their project deadlines,” said Oscar.

“With Sandvik Materials Technology being renamed Alleima from August 31, this will give the company fresh impetus to advance our current leading position in materials technology to support evolving market demands. These will include the continued need for research and development and innovative materials, such as our super austenitic grade Sanicro® 35,” he added.

Sanicro® 35 is a unique, high performance alternative to existing duplex and austenitic stainless steel grades and more expensive nickel alloys. Designed for extremely corrosive environments and seawater applications, it is ideal for hydraulic and instrumentation tubing. The alloy features high mechanical yield strength, superior corrosion-resistance and excellent structural stability.
