Sentusys™ – Sandvik intelligent tube system
Tubes used in the process industry are constantly exposed to several challenges, such as variations in temperature, strain and vibration. Monitoring these tubes typically includes a lot of intuition, listening and guessing.
What if you could increase safety in your processes by continuous and frequent measurements, even in areas that are hard to reach manually? What if you could get a warning when vibration, strain or temperature deviate...
That would give you a better understanding of when the process runs safely, allow for increased production yield as you had access to accurate, real time readings. It would also allow for planned maintenance as you would know exactly what your tubes have been exposed to. Just imagine what you could do with that information.
With the Sandvik intelligent tube system, Sentusys™, you can do all that, and more.
How does it work?
The Sandvik intelligent tube system is used for in-process, online monitoring. A sensor-based tube system contains integrated, protected sensors that send signals via a cloud service to your device in real time. A user-friendly interface then provides you with continuous information about temperature, strain and vibration, enabling immediate corrections when necessary.
The system consists of:
- Tubes with integrated sensors and cables
- Signal conditioning equipment
- Cloud based data storage and calculations
- Data monitoring and analysis by Sandvik
All signals are processed in the signal conditioning unit and data sent either to a cloud or directly to your automation or control system. If you choose the cloud solution, your data can be used for long-term analysis.
How do I get started?
Sentusys™ evolves together with our customers. They know their processes best, while Sandvik provides metallurgical and material development expertise. It's a truly productive combination.
During the past year, a number of customers have installed the Sandvik intelligent tubes in their processes to increase safety, yield and process control.
