Taking materials to the extreme

We offer five main OCTG grades with a dimensional range of 2 3/8" up to 7 3/4" (60 - 200 mm OD). This includes two unique materials: Sanicro® 29, a highly alloyed austenitic steel; and Sandvik SAF 3207 HD™, our hyper-duplex stainless steel.
Our duplex family is optimized for high yield strength (enabling lighter constructions) and corrosion resistance at low to moderate temperatures. Sanicro® 28 and Sanicro® 29 grades are for corrosive environments at higher temperatures.
Our Sanicro® 28 is excellent at combating corrosion in hot downhole environments with high partial pressure of H2S and high chloride content. Now, our next generation Sanicro® 29 takes this to an even higher level.
Figure 1. Critical pitting temperature (CPT) as a function of chloride concentrations for cold worked Sanicro® 29 and Sanicro® 28. The potential was +600 mV vs. SCE.
As shown, Sanicro® 29 is a superior choice for environments containing a mix of very high chloride concentrations and high partial pressures of H2S. For very hot and sour wells, this corrosion-resistant alloy also provides even better resistance to localized corrosion and sulfide stress cracking than Sanicro® 28. Both materials are cost-efficient alternatives to higher alloyed OCTG products.
