Harsher well conditions demand tougher coiled tubing for safe and efficient workovers.
For less demanding workovers in sweet wells, carbon steel coiled tubing may be suitable. But for more complex well work in harsh conditions, you’ll need tougher, more corrosion-resistant alloys to ensure the highest levels of safety and productivity. Pulling and pushing tools at greater depths places extreme forces on the materials – a fact that is often compounded in adverse environments.
With the right austenitic, duplex or super-duplex stainless steel, you get increased strength and a more resistant material that can extend the lifetime of your coiled tubing. You can also reduce weight as coiled tubing strings become longer, due to greater sea depths.
