Sandvik’s welding consumables acquired by ESAB

Sandvik’s welding consumables business has been acquired by ESAB from February 1, 2018. Over the coming months ESAB will be integrating the Sandvik portfolio, to provide a smooth transition for customers. During the integration period, the full line of Sandvik welding products will continue to be accessible on this website, or via the ESAB website.

Sandvik is a world-class developer and manufacturer of stainless steels and special alloys for demanding environments. For more than 80 years we have been one of the leading global suppliers of welding materials for stainless steel and nickel alloys.

The development of welding materials always goes hand-in-hand with the development of new steel grades at Sandvik. This means that you can use our material innovations and can rest assured that the matching welding materials will maintain the required quality for both industry standards and your own company’s particular needs. Our experience in a broad range of applications and our capable technical support is always at your disposal when needs arise for the improvement of productivity, reduction of cost and the use of materials in demanding environments.

Sandvik's products for welding of stainless steel and nickel alloys are characterized by chemical composition to close tolerances and consistency between heats and batches, contributing to trouble-free welding and high-quality welding joints.

Our welding products

Sandvik welding wire and rods are filler metals optimized for MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), plasma-arc (PAW) and submerged-arc welding (SAW). These are available in stainless steels and nickel alloys.

Strip electrodes are used in electro-slag welding (ESW) and submerged arc welding (SAW).

Sandvik provides welding fluxes for joint welding and surfacing in submerged arc welding (SAW) and electro-slag welding (ESW).

Sandvik's flux cored wire electrodes are of rutile type and have an austenitic stainless steel sheath.

Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), or manual metal arc welding (MMA) is a slow but versatile welding method, and is therefore an important complement to other welding processes.

Thermal spray wire in a wide range of alloys for high-temperature corrosion protection, bonding layers, build-up coating and sealing.

Sandvik provides chemical products for improving the surface finish and corrosion resistance of welds.
