Will ADIPEC reflect growing confidence in Middle East oil and gas industry?

Come and see us at ADIPEC 2018, stand #3220, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre Hall 3, and let’s discuss how we can add value to your business through purposeful innovation.

According to most indicators, the oil and gas industry in the Middle East is set for a significant take off once again.

Reduced oil production from mature basins, combined with geopolitical issues, mean supply is constrained while demand is on the rise. The International Energy Agency has estimated about 3 million barrels of oil per day of supply is being lost each year, forcing oil price increases. With its vast hydrocarbon reserves, the Middle East is well placed to satisfy any short-term increase in global demand for additional oil and gas. Furthermore, its long-term importance is highlighted in BP’s Energy Outlook for 2018, which forecasts the Middle East will still be the world’s largest oil producer and exporter by 2040, and the second largest gas producer.

For us at Sandvik, the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region is proving increasingly successful for business growth. The opening of our regional oil and gas headquarters in Dubai last year has really helped us enhance the delivery of local services and products to our customers, and we’ve delivered on a number of big and high-profile projects as a result.

Elsewhere in the EMEA region, we recently recruited a new business development manager, Ezenna Okolie, to maximize our expansion in sub Saharan Africa.

Key product growth markets for us include the supply of hydraulic and instrumentation tubes, heat exchanger tubing and control lines to customers in the region.

Operators are moving to corrosion resistant stainless and nickel alloys to cope with the aggressive environments found in deepwater subsea environments and sour wells. Since 1980, Sandvik has supplied over 100 million meters of seamless stainless tubing to customers worldwide and the demand for our high corrosion resistant alloys is increasing, as operators look to improve life cycle cost and safety in both existing systems and new, ever more aggressive environments.

But we’re not the only ones excited about the current and potential opportunities that exist in region, which is why we expect to see plenty of confidence at this year’s ADIPEC (Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference), from 12 to 15 November 2018.

ADIPEC is a great event for us to show our innovative tubes technology for the upstream and downstream markets to an eager audience and we always get a good response. Our stand will feature a range of products including hydraulic and instrumentation tubing, heat exchanger and high temperature tubing, control lines, umbilical tubing and OCTG tubing.

We’re also part of the Fight Fake Initiative, an industry initiative launched by the Steel Alliance Against Counterfeiting (SAAC) in November 2015. The main goal of creating Fight Fake Products Initiative is to act as a strong, coherent voice for the industry in the fight against the manufacture, distribution and sales of counterfeited products.
